Orloj: The Prague Astronomical Clock box art

Setup Steps

  1. Place Main Board and Clock: Unfold the main board in the center of the table. Place the Orloj clock face and the astronomical dial on the rotation axis to form the clock. The Orloj clock face should be placed in a random position. Set the astronomical dial with the hand pointing to a random starting hour.
  2. Place Moon Disc: Place the moon disc in the first position to the left of the hand inside the astronomical dial.
  3. Assemble Walk of the Apostles: Assemble the walk of the apostles gears above the main board. Fit the gears so that Apostle 1 (James) is on the left and Apostle 2 (Peter) is on the right in the lower position. Randomly take one Orloj crowning piece and assemble it with the walk of the apostles.
  4. Place Round and Rooster Markers: Place the round marker on the leftmost space of the round track according to the number of players. Place the golden rooster on the general rooster track on the number indicated by the round marker.
  5. Set Up Month Dials: Draw 6 month dials at random from the bag. Place a blocked month dial in each construction space indicated by the drawn dials. Draw 1 more dial from the bag and place all extracted dials in their corresponding calendar spaces with illustrated side up. Place all remaining dials in their construction area spaces with non-illustrated side up. (2 players)
  6. Set Up Month Dials: Draw 5 month dials at random from the bag. Place a blocked month dial in each construction space indicated by the drawn dials. Draw 1 more dial from the bag and place all extracted dials in their corresponding calendar spaces with illustrated side up. Place all remaining dials in their construction area spaces with non-illustrated side up. (3 players)
  7. Set Up Month Dials: Draw 4 month dials at random from the bag. Place a blocked month dial in each construction space indicated by the drawn dials. Draw 1 more dial from the bag and place all extracted dials in their corresponding calendar spaces with illustrated side up. Place all remaining dials in their construction area spaces with non-illustrated side up. (4 players)
  8. Set Up Zodiac Dials: Prepare the zodiac dials in the same way as the month dials, using the same number of draws based on player count.
  9. Place Final Construction Dial: Place the large final construction dial in the center of the calendar with its initial side facing up.
  10. Place Hammer Discs: Place a hammer disc in the indicated position in each of the two construction zones (months and zodiac).
  11. Set Up Calendar Sections and Painter: Shuffle the 12 calendar sections and place them face up in a random order to form a circle around the calendar. Place the painter in the starting position.

  13. Place Royal Scrolls: Shuffle the 6 royal scrolls (blue seal) and place 3 face up at the top of the mastery tracks. Return the rest to the box.

  15. Set Up Scrolls: Remove scrolls marked with the 3+ and 4-player symbols. Shuffle remaining scrolls to form a face-down reserve next to the main board, then reveal 3 scrolls. (2 players)
  16. Place Common Objectives: Shuffle the common stained-glass-window objectives by back color. Place one of each color in the corresponding positions. Return the rest to the box.
  17. Place Objective Bonuses: Shuffle the common objective bonuses by back color. Place one of each color below the corresponding objectives. Return the rest to the box.
  18. Set Up Workshop Cards: Shuffle the 21 workshop cards and place 3 in the designated spaces on the main board. Place the rest of the deck aside.

  20. Set Up Resource Supply: Place gold, paint, wood, iron and coins next to the main board to form a general supply.
  21. Take Personal Components: Each player takes a personal board, warehouse, and forge. Place them in your play area. Take an additional actions reference card.
  22. Place Deviation Tokens: Place your 5 deviation tokens at the top of your personal board with the non-gear side facing up (no broken gears showing).
