Faiyum Setup Guide

Setup Steps

1. Place Initial Settlement and Road: Place a settlement on the red space and a road on the dam between the two peninsulas.
2. Place Initial Crocodiles: Place a crocodile on every wheat (yellow) space and grape (purple) space.
3. Shuffle and Place market cards: Shuffle market cards and place them face down to form a draw pile. Draw the top 8 cards and place them face-up in the market slots.
4. Sort resources: Place resource tokens, money, building tiles, road segments, and bonus tokens in a general supply.
5. Each player chooses a color and takes: 1 Player Board, starting workers (typically 5, 1 active, 4 in reserve), 10 Deben, 1 PP marker (place on '0' of score track), and their 3 starting cards (Farmer, Mason, Road Builder).
6. Players shuffle their starting cards and draw them into their hand.
7. First Player: Randomly select a starting player.
