Setup Steps

1. Place Board: Place the game board in the center of the table.
2. Gold Supply: Sort the Gold cards by denomination and place them in supply piles near the board.
3. Pyramid Supply: Place all Pyramids and Building Stones in a general supply.
4. Farmer Supply: Place all Farmer tokens in a general supply.
5. Province Deck: Shuffle the Province cards and place them face-down as a draw pile.
6. Power Card Deck: Shuffle the Power cards and place them face-down near the board.
7. Player Components: Each player takes all components of one color: bidding tokens, player markers, and sacrifice marker.
8. Starting Gold: Each player receives starting gold: 20 gold in 3-player games, 15 gold in 4-player games, 12 gold in 5-player games.
9. Score Markers: Place each player's score marker on space 0 of the scoring track.
10. Start Player: Randomly determine a start player.
